Description
Celebrate your enthusiasm for tourist season by snapping a photo or two of tourists that capture your imagination or funny bone. Photos will be exhibited in Selby Public Library from April 1st through May 31st. Cash prizes will be awarded for first ($25), second ($15) and third ($10) place. Participants must be between the ages of 12 and 18 and reside in Sarasota County, Florida. Only hard-copy photographs, no smaller than 4 x 6 inches will be accepted.

Contest is not open to employees of Sarasota County Libraries and their immediate families.
No entry fee to participate.
The theme is Snowbird Season.
All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them. Person submitting form must have taken photographs. It is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure that any images submitted have been taken with the permission of the subject, and do not infringe upon the copyright of any third party or law. Entrants must warrant that the photo they submit is their work, and that they own the copyright for it.
Only hard-copy photographs, no smaller than 4 x 6 inches will be accepted.
Photographs may be in color or black & white.
Photographs that have been digitally altered beyond standard optimization (removal of dust, red eye, cropping, reasonable adjustments to exposure, color and contrast, etc.) will be disqualified.
Inappropriate, indecent, or obscene photo submissions will be voided.
By entering the contest, you are granting to Sarasota County Libraries permission to use your photographs in any manner it deems appropriate. The photographs become the property of Sarasota County Libraries.
Prizes will be awarded Saturday, May 3rd, 1:00 p.m., in the Teen Center of Selby Public Library. Winners will be notified and are encouraged to be present at the awards ceremony on May 3rd to accept their prize.
All winning contestants must pick up prizes from Selby Public Library by June 1st, or the prize will be considered forfeited.
All decisions are final.

Photographs should be accompanied by entry form available at all Sarasota County Libraries and on the Sarasota County

Then come to the next meeting of the Gulf Gate YAAC. The group meets the first Tuesday of the month. At this meeting, we plan activities for the rest of the month. Some past events include: bowling nights, movies, theme parks, hiking/canoe trips, and naturally beach parties.

Jane Glennan, Outreach Coordinator, Historic Spanish Point presents “The Orphan Trains.”

This program is a tie-in to the 2015 “One Book One Community” selection Orphan Train, by Christina Baker Kline.

Learn more about this chapter in our history and get a historical perspective of the orphan train movement that relocated an estimated 250,000 orphaned, abandoned, or homeless children from New York City into homes around the country from 1853 to 1929.

This class is for Spanish speakers, who want to improve their English skills in speaking, and understanding English, with emphasis on correct pronunciation. Students must be able to speak some basic English. Class meets once a week, Monday evenings, from 6:00 to 7:30. The class will begin on January 5, 2015 and run for 15 weeks until April 27, 2015. The girls spent a day at the beach. They had a long drive back they had a blast. They had their bathing suits filled with sand enjoyed riding the waves. They liked to do fun stuff together. my mom, my siblings and I like to do that type of stuff too.
